I thought I'd add a few things...first, Unlike you, I never had to sign the Tailhook statement...why? Because I was there! Also, Al West was the XVIII ABC Artillery exchange officer and was the II MEF Force Fires Coordinator in 2001/2002. Since I was also in the G-3 as a mob'd reservist and Exercise Planner, I had the opportunity to interact with him quite a bit. He was, in my impression, an outstanding officer and would surely have pinned on stars if not for what happened in Iraq. But I would say he didn't go quietly and is making quite an impact in his current assignment. I'm not surprised at all by this. Be sure to lend him your support in his reelection campaign for he is a true friend and supporter of Marines. He is one incumbent we really need to keep in office.
