Genghis-6 is one of the finest Infantry Officers I’ve ever had the pleasure of serving with. He believed in training hard to ensure success. His leadership was sound, his love for Corps and Country unquestionable. I served with him ’93-’96, partly as his S-3 SLJO, but mostly as his NBCD Officer. Never forgot what he did for us all. Best tour was with 1st Bn, 2nd Marines.

As a Corporal, I served under “Captain” Kahn in Weapons Platoon Bravo Co. 1/2 after we got back from Somalia in 1993. He was and i’m sure still is as hard core as they come. He was well respected and definatley a “CO” to remember. His training ethic was OUTSTANDING and his motivation contagious.

I was a Plt Sgt with Bravo Co. 1st Bn 2nd Mar. Yes LtCol Kahn was my company Commander. One thing I can say he LOVES THE CORPS but most importantly HE TRUELY LOVED HIS MARINES. He trained as if we were at war. Wow did he love his CS. He did Not accept ignorance. Devil Dog Sir, Semper Fi. Hope the family is fine.

I also served under LtCol Khan’s command in the 22MEU. He’s the only legend I’ve ever met. The summary of this article states he authored Genghis -6… is that a book, article, or video? I cannot find it. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

I served under Lt. Col Khan in the 22nd MEU. What they did to him when we got back was wrong. He is by far the best Battalion CO I had. I respected that man more than any other officer. I would have followed him to hell and back. Semper Fi Sir!!

Jason B I too was in Aco 1st Bn 2nd Marines during 1993-1997 and I do remember then Captain Kahn…We had then Captain Looney…I was in Weapons Platoon Assault Section. But you’re right on the money when it came to Kahn being hardcore and ready to fight. This man led from the front.

I served in the USMC from 1993-1997 and for most of that time was in the same Batallion as (then) Capt. Khan (I was A co. 1/2, LtCol Khan was Bravo Company )…thank god I wasn’t in Bravo Company…and I say that only half-jokingly, this man really worked round the clock seemingly obsessed with preparing his marines and that was during peace time. And while I am quite happy I wasn’t in his company during peace time there’s no other company comander I’d rather be with during war time.

In March 2007 I took 12 pages of notes when we spoke in Dubai, (I was inbound to Kabul). Those notes have been an invaluable reference for me. You were spot-on then and still are.
