May God bless these two young American men who sacrificed their lives to protect the lives of their friends, their brothers in arms. Please pray for them, their families, and for the safety of all their fellow Marines. We as civilians all owe a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid to all the men and women who wear the American uniform and defend our freedoms.

Memorial Day for myself and my family from as early as I can remember was always spent at the cemetery. My father, being a Korean War Veteran made it a point to set aside half a day on Memorial Day to share stories and impress on our hearts and minds the importance of the day and our military. When my brother turned 19 he entered the Marine Corps and gave this country 4 years of service. My son and daughter decided the Navy was their calling. My son, is currently in Japan and coming up on his 10th year of service, my daughter is now a Veteran, who has chosen to continue her college and eventually enter the Peace Corp to answer yet another call of service.
Myself, I do what I can to support and honor all those past and present who serve or have served our Great Country.
This Memorial Weekend was spent with one of our own, wounded last May 29th (his 21st birthday) in Iraq...although he lost his left arm and is paralyzed from the waist down and carries the scars of schrapnel and burns, his spirit is that of a warrior. He does not wallow in self pity and has a will to make a difference in someones life, he already has in many. He along with Jim our WWII Prisoner of War Hero embody the same spirit, love of God, Country, Family and they survived some of the fiercest circumstances to be the voice of so many who lost their lives for the freedom that so many take for granted. I feel extremely blessed and privileged to have had the opportunity to know both these men, they make me proud and re-affirm in my heart that the priciples this nation were founded on continue to burn in the hearts of men and women everywhere.
I humbly thank all of you in service and your families we will not ever forget what you are doing or have done.
To those who's loved ones have paid the ultimate price, our debt to you is immeasurable.
To our Veterans, your service has laid the foundations for many generations to come and there will be more as long as stories of courage, loss and bravery are shared.
To the families of our POW's and MIA's...we will never stop praying for their return...for as long as one soldier is imprisoned or missing our vigil and prayers will continue....
Thanks "Taco"
